Why Many Christians Struggle With Sharing the Gospel and How to Start Again

I’ve heard a lot of difficulties, especially when it comes to sharing the Gospel.

Many people quietly ask the same question: Why do some Christians choose not to share their faith at all? Why do others remain silent, choosing to do other tasks instead of standing on the pulpit, speaking in a Bible study, or even sharing the Word with someone they felt convicted to talk to?

For many, it is not a lack of love for God. It is fear, care, and uncertainty mixed together.

Why Sharing the Gospel Feels So Difficult

Some are afraid of misinterpreting Scripture. They care deeply about God’s Word and do not want to teach something incorrectly. Because of that, they either stop reading altogether or rely only on listening to pastors, preachers, and teachers.

Others struggle with unworthiness. Knowing their own flaws, past mistakes, and ongoing battles, they conclude that they are not qualified to speak about God. They believe sharing the Gospel is only for those who have it all together.

There are also those who read the Bible consistently but keep the Word to themselves. They believe Scripture is deeply personal and fear being misunderstood or corrected if they speak about what they learned.

I have been in that place before. I know how it feels.

But it does not have to stay that way.

The Word Was Never Meant to Stop With Us

The Bible reminds us that the Word of God is living and active. It works in us, shapes us, and gently moves us forward. When we allow it to continue its work, it eventually flows outward.

Jesus never required complete understanding before asking people to follow Him. He did not say, “Explain everything perfectly.” He said, “Be My witnesses.”

A witness does not need all the answers. A witness shares what they have seen, heard, and experienced.

Many people stop sharing not because the Word stopped working, but because fear took control. Fear of being wrong. Fear of being judged. Fear of being exposed. Yet Scripture also reminds us that love drives out fear. As our relationship with God deepens, fear slowly loses its power.

The Private Life Behind a Confident Faith

A healthy Christian life is built in private, consistent moments with God.

Praying personally, worshipping the Lord, and reading the Gospel regularly are not religious performances. They are relationship practices. This is where confidence with God is formed, not confidence in ourselves.

There is a simple truth often repeated in Christian discipleship: the strength of our public faith flows from the health of our private walk.

Confidence with God is not something we create. God builds it within us as we walk with Him. A strong foundation is not invented. It is received through studying the Word. Dependency on God is not earned. It is developed by continually choosing His presence.

This is not a one-time decision. It is a daily walk.

Daily Bread for a Daily Walk

Scripture speaks of daily bread for a reason.

Just as our bodies need food every day, our hearts need the Word of God consistently. We do not live by physical bread alone, but by every word that comes from God. When the Word becomes part of our daily rhythm, obedience becomes natural, not forced.

As this relationship grows, sharing the Gospel becomes less about pressure and more about overflow. Less about perfection and more about faithfulness. Less about fear and more about trust.

Let the Word Continue Working in You

Do not stop because of fear.
Do not stop because of doubt.
Do not stop with the Word.

Let the Word continue shaping your heart, renewing your mind, and guiding your steps. In time, you will see how God uses simple obedience to change lives. Sometimes quietly. Sometimes unexpectedly. Often deeper than we realize.

The Word of God changes lives. Sometimes it changes others. Often, it changes us first.

And many times, it begins when we choose to share.
