An Urgent Call: Repent and Turn Back to God
Have you heard the saying, “The only constant in this world is change”?
But what does that really mean?
Our world is constantly changing. Everything around us changes, and even we ourselves change. It is not about choosing whether you want to change today or tomorrow, because change will happen whether you like it or not. Whether you believe it or not, everything shifts over time.
From the inside out, from the smallest details to the biggest events, change is happening. Some things grow, others fade away. Some changes are visible, others happen quietly, and you might not even notice them.
If We Cannot Stop Change, What Does It Mean for Us?
It means we always have a chance. Every second that passes is new, and since change is constant, we are constantly given opportunities.
Maybe you feel like you cannot change anything. You might be half right, but also half wrong. Because even if the change does not happen through you, change is still happening around you.
While Everything Changes, God Does Not
God is not bound by this world. He does not change.
-
Malachi 3:6, “For I the Lord do not change.”
-
2 Timothy 2:13, “If we are faithless, He remains faithful.”
-
Isaiah 40:8, “The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God endures forever.”
-
1 Peter 5:7, “Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.”
While the world shifts, God remains the same. His faithfulness, His Word, His promises, and His love remain constant.
Change Is a Chance to Return to God
Since change never stops, the chance to go back to God never stops. Every change that happens around us is a reminder that we need something unchanging, someone unchanging, and that is God.
What God desires from us is simple.
-
A change of heart: Ezekiel 36:26
-
A renewal of mind: Romans 12:2
These are the changes that matter most. These are the changes that transform our lives from the inside out.
The Urgency of Surrendering to God
Scripture tells us that Jesus will return like a thief in the night.
-
Matthew 24:44, “The Son of Man will come at an hour you do not expect.”
This means there is a risk if you are not fully surrendered to Christ. If you are cold or lukewarm, now is the time to come back to Him.
There is an urgent call to repent.
-
Acts 3:19, “Repent then and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out.”
-
2 Peter 3:9, “He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish.”
-
Hebrews 9:27, “Man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment.”
If you are hoping for change, know that change is constant, but God is the constant change you truly need. He is Hope. He is Peace. He is the King of kings and Lord of lords.
There Is a Time for Everything
-
Ecclesiastes 3:1, “To everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven.”
If you are reading this, maybe this is your time.
A time to surrender.
A time to repent.
A time to return to God.
Your life does not end when you die. Real life ends and begins with Christ.
If you want to grow more in your faith or get to know Jesus, know that Christ is knocking at the door of your heart. He is waiting for you to open it. Let Him open your eyes, renew your mind, and transform your life.
Talk to God through prayer and hear Him through His Word. God can speak to you in limitless ways. He may be using this very moment to reach you.
Prayer of Surrender
If you are ready, pray this even in a whisper:
God, who constantly guides and looks at me even now, I praise You.
Please forgive me for all of my sins, and I now forgive everyone whom I have not forgiven for a long time.
Thank You for this chance to confess my sins and surrender my life, my worries, and every burden to You.
I open the door of my heart and let You in, Jesus, as my Lord and Savior. Live in me and change my life from the inside out.
I surrender my life to You. I believe that my name is written in the Book of Life. And now that I am in Your hands, I believe that You will never leave me nor forsake me, and that Your blessings are upon me.
Open my eyes to see Your works and renew my mind. Ignite the fire of faith in me through the Holy Spirit that You have given.
All praise and glory to You, our God. This is my prayer, in Jesus name. Amen.
