I Choose to Believe

I have been a Christian since I was a kid and I have heard the gospel many times. For a long time, I never really questioned God, who He is, or if He is truly real. That changed when I faced battles and challenges in life. Those moments stirred questions in my heart about my faith, about God, and about the Bible.

I know I am not alone when I say this. I had my doubts.

But today, I am not here to revisit those doubts. I am here to say, firmly and boldly, that I choose to believe.

I do not know about you, but I choose to believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, the One chosen by God. More than that, I believe that He came from heaven and that He is God Himself. The Word was God, and the Word lived among us. I believe He is the same presence that was there from Genesis until today, the One who spoke to the prophets and who now speaks to all believers.

I believe in God the Father.
I believe in Christ the Son.
I believe in the Holy Spirit.

Our God is three in one.

Some of us feel closer to God when we talk to Him like a friend, our closest companion, someone we can speak to freely. Some of us feel closer when we talk to God like a father, the One we truly need, the One we depend on. Some of us feel closer when we talk to God like a mother, a shoulder to cry on, a place of comfort and rest. There are many ways we approach God, often shaped by what draws our hearts closer to Him.

However we talk with God and however we walk with Him, it will always be best to believe.

Let us cast away our doubts.
Believe.

There is no turning back, no switching from one side to another.

I encourage you to make a full turn, a complete change of direction. No more standing between belief and doubt. No more hesitation.

As Christmas comes, we are reminded that Christ was born, that He is alive, and that He will live forever.

It is not proof that is lacking. Christ is the truth, the way, and the life: “Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.’” (John 14:6)

What we need is faith, belief, the assurance that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)

No more doubt, only belief.

A faith that obeys the Word. A faith that loves the Word. A faith that believes the Word. A faith that cares for the Word. A faith that leads to repentance, forgiveness, and the lordship of Christ.

A faith that sparks.

Today, I declare that doubt is being cast away, not only from my heart but also from the hearts of anyone reading this. As I choose to believe in Christ, the Word, my Lord and Savior, I stand on the truth that He humbled Himself to live among us and to die for us.

Jesus Christ lived in this world, rose from the dead, the Lamb who washed away our sins, the Lord who came not only to rule but to save.

I choose to believe in You, and there is no turning back.

Glory to the Father.
Glory to the Son, Jesus.
Glory to the Holy Spirit.
